They have been demanding regularisation of their jobs or to be appointed as service providers in rural veterinary dispensaries. In the wake of the rigid stand taken by them, the government had tried to persuade the freshly passed-out lot to join the services.

The government had earlier, through an advertisement, announced that 400 veterinary pharmacists would be appointed as service providers in rural dispensaries. Later, the government had to take back its decision following protests by veterinary officers. The government had decided to appoint veterinary officers as service providers in dispensaries in place of veterinary pharmacists.

According to sources, the authorities concerned acted in haste in giving out provisional certificates to the pharmacists on the last day of their exams so that they could join the service without delay.

Grand green vision for S.F.'s Parkmerced

The owners of San Francisco's Parkmerced want to add nearly 5,700 homes to the World War II-era rental housing complex, an ambitious renovation that could rank as one of the greenest in the country.

Over 20 years, the developer says, the minimum $1.2 billion project would take the 115-acre property off the power grid by employing wind turbines and other low-emission energy sources, slash water consumption through improved plumbing and recycling, and halve tenants' automobile use by, among other things, adding public transportation options.

"I almost consider it a moral obligation in a project of this size to be responsible and do whatever we can do to help confront the problem of climate change," said Craig Hartman, lead architect on the project and partner with Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP.

Why the majority see the police as their enemy

They were Jack Warner in The Blue Lamp, a film to which my response remains something that I feel defines me as an Englishman. When poor old Jack stops a bullet from Dirk Bogarde, I (like all right-thinking people) long for the moment, after the film, when Dirk will be at the end of a rope.

'Perfect Storm' of Strikes Could Cripple Film Industry

Lower-budget films, even the really good ones, become less of a priority in that kind of crunch," according to a producer for Open City Films in New York, Jason Kliot. "It's harder for us to get the agents' and the actors' attention when they're thinking about these basic livelihood issues."

Hollywood, CA (PRWEB) July 18, 2006 -- Paris Hilton's daddy, Rick Hilton (Hilton & Hyland Real Estate) had something to celebrate on Father's Day this year as he recently won a record case awarding the firm and real estate agent, Chad Rogers. The high profile H&H case involved a real estate commission dispute on an $11.55 million-dollar beach house in the ultra exclusive Malibu Colony, against Susan Loggans for a record deserved commission that went unpaid.

New philosophies may help USC

That's a huge drawback for a team making 71.6 percent of its shots, which is in the top quarter of the NCAA.

The makeup of the Gamecocks' roster isn't conducive to getting to the line. Downey (5-foot-9) and Fredrick (6-foot) rely on jump shots, and the inside players are hardly an offensive threat. The 6-7 Archie is playing better but still is banging against bigger players.

Still, Odom believes his players can do more to draw fouls.

"We can't play the game avoiding contact," Odom said. "We've got to force contact and make the referees blow the whistle, and hopefully they'll blow it in our favor some."

But Downey isn't sure what more he can do, saying he won't go out of his way to throw his body at defenders. He also thinks it's going to be hard for a 5-9 player to convince officials he was fouled.
