Foreclosure filings continue to climb

Scheduling a sale does not mean an auction will be held, Scott added. Almost one-fourth of the sales set in La Crosse County last year were called off because the owner filed for bankruptcy, sold the property or managed to make payments to bring the property out of foreclosure, he said.A number of other sales were rescheduled or pushed into 2008, Scott said.More than half of the foreclosure sales in 2007 involved properties with La Crosse mailing addresses.La Crosse had 72 of the properties sold at foreclosure last year, while 22 were in Onalaska and 17 in Holmen. 'Girls Gone Wild' founder alleges torture while in Oklahoma jail

How considerate of your victim's civil rights were you? Very simple and most Americans see the sanity in that. Sounds like we need to expand the Tulsa model. I'd love for jailbirds to finally see jail as something other than an extension of the welfare system. .

"I asked why it took so long a complaint to be made and I was not given a satisfactory response.

"If staff were horrified, embarrassed, disgusted and uncomfortable with what was allegedly said, I don't understand why the complaint was not made sooner.

"I find it fairly disingenuous that the employees described themselves as shocked as strong language was regularly used at work."

Martin Harker, who chaired the internal appeal hearing for the estate, said the alleged remarks had wrecked the "family" atmosphere at Knowsley.

He went on: "Acting as a representative for Lord Derby, I had to decide whether the comments had been made, whether the conduct had been gross misconduct and whether dismissal was appropriate.

Hewlett-Packard said Tuesday that it is aiming to cut the energy consumption of its desktops and notebooks by 25 percent by 2010.

Technology vendors are increasingly using their green IT initiatives to improve their standing in the market place. It's becoming difficult to distinguish the marketing from the green technology reality. Indeed, HP touted the number of its products meeting gold and silver ratings under EPEAT (the Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool).
