Even with Spitzer in this weakened state, there isn't a big back bench of potential Republican candidates to challenge him. Spitzer vowed at a private fundraiser to push for legalization of gay marriage - a move Republicans decried as divisive. That pledge would seem to run counter to experts opinion that Spitzer needs to reach out to voters and detractors alike as he seeks to repair the damage wrought by his failed license plan. .
Adams: Yes, I'm interested in Saints job
Obviously the Sam Alladyces etc are outside of our budget and Glenn Hoddel might not be too committed, so that brings us to Chris Coleman and/or Steve Cotterill. Both have proven records of achieveing reasonable sucess with limited budgets, but I am not sure if the players that we have would give them their total respect! Definitely not Billy Davies for me, not becasue of the Derby play off history, but I do not like his "kick and rush" approach to playing football. Oh for an Alan Ball and MLT/Shearer "dream ticket". Although both MLT and Shearer are both comfortably established on TV couches, and RIP Alan. I also appreciate that you don't have to have been a great player to make a good manager, a la Gerrard Houlier etc. Good lukc Leon Crouch, please get this decision right! .
Clinton Wins Primary But No Delegates
THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. Check back soon for further information. AP's earlier story is below. DAVIE, Fla. (AP) - Hillary Rodham Clinton's poll closing rally in Florida had all the trappings of a primary win. The only thing missing were the delegates. The New York senator, fresh off her lopsided loss to rival Barack Obama in South Carolina, sought some momentum Tuesday in a Florida contest that drew no candidates and no campaigning. Last year, the national party stripped Florida of its delegates as punishment for moving its primary ahead of Feb. 5 and the candidates pledged to bypass the state. At stake Tuesday were 185 delegates. Still, Clinton winked at that pledge, holding two closed fundraisers in recent days and scheduling a rally with supporters after the polls closed in Florida.
RV workers say uncertainty at all-time high
Experts say it's no coincidence that the bad news is hitting from all sides. "They're all looking at the same data, and they're all arriving at the same conclusions, and the data's just not very pretty," said Indiana University South Bend Economics Professor Dr. Lane David. "In the RV industry and the automotive industry, there's definitely a recession already, and we're seeing the effects of that." They aren't hard to glimpse. More than 100 workers from Monaco and other smaller local RV makers packed into unemployment offices in Elkhart and South Bend Monday alone. It's the largest one day volume from the RV industry that WorkOne business manager Howard Blackwood can ever remember. "Normally we do not see that," said Blackwood. "If they close down one plant, they tend to reabsorb it in the other plants." Blackwood believes that means the worst may still lie ahead.

World's most recession-proof economy? The Super Bowl
The Super Village alone has 10 corporate sponsors aiming to connect with well-healed consumers. Pontiac will present a 50 Cent concert, while showing off its 2008 model. Samsung is prominently displaying its latest HDTVs. Some of the NFL's biggest sponsors have had their bells rung lately. Motorola last week reported horrible year-end results for 2007, with revenues falling 15 percent because of its sagging cell-phone business. Sprint Nextel lost 109,000 wireless subscribers in the fourth quarter of 2007 and recently announced it was laying off 7 percent of its workforce and closing 8 percent of its company-owned retail stores. Yet they're at Super Bowl XLII in full force. Sprint Nextel is promoting the heck out of its new SEE video service, covering the party scene and having expert commentators such as Marshall Faulk discuss the game.
